Hi guys,
As usual the context for this study is real estate, but I discuss the implications for other service professions.
Bribes and Inducements Bomb as a Real Estate Sales Technique
I humbly suggest that anyone who is in business for themselves should read this. :-D

Just posted another installment at Real Estate Success Path about Choice Architecture.
If you enjoyed the last one, I think you'll enjoy this, too:
More about Real Estate Sales and Choice Architecture
I have NO idea what that's even about (except an extremely lame and paranoid attempt to protect intellectual property rights) and hadn't even considered it as a possibility.

Well, there's finally a new blog post up at Real Estate Success Path and unlike some others, this one is broadly applicable to a large variety of businesses.
In fact, it features a video segment that shows how choice architecture is used in some fine dining establishments to influence consumer food choice.
Check it out, and consider how choice architecture could possiblly impact the profitability of your business.
Big thanks to Ken Owens, Speaker & Hypnotist for sharing the video with me!

"Hey, Craig, I thought you were writing a series on real estate agents and being a Neighborhood Expert."
I am....
But being a Neighborhood Expert is nothing more than specializing and marketing to a geographical niche... which, of course, is simply niche marketing in action.
So, jump on over and check it out. Look at this series as a case study in niche marketing and ask yourself how you can apply some of the principles to your own business.

There's a new post on Real Estate Success Path today, entitled:
Being a Neighborhood Expert: Tried and True or a Risky Real Estate Marketing Strategy?
It's part 1 in a 3 part series, and even if you're not in real estate, I think it gives you something to think about.
The post is really about niche marketing, and it uses the "neighborhood expert" that's so popular in real estate, as an example.
So, as per my last post, learn from outside your industry! See if there's anything that speaks to you in the article and share your insights!
Happy Friday!
Craig
I know that most real estate agents don't.
How about you?
I attend many more events outside of my industry than inside, and I usually learn more from those outside of real estate-- of course, I choose those events carefully.
I think this becomes more and more important as you become more accomplished at what you do.
How about you guys? Do you read books and blogs outside of your niches? Do you attend conferences (in addition to Kevin Hogan's) outside of your niches?

The Importance of Learning from Outside of the Real Estate World

As you know, I'll primarily be blogging over at my own site:
And as you can see, my blog is written for real estate agents.
However....
I think you'll find that 90-95% of what I write is topical and useful for all kinds of businesses, especially service-based business and businesses that have any kind of online component (and shouldn't they all at this point).
My blog is set up so that your first comment needs to be approved, but after that all comments show up live.
So, come on over and check out my latest post:
Knowing Your Client Acquisition Cost Can be Vital to Your Real Estate Business (Part 1)
See ya there,
Craig
Hi everyone,
I may post some short articles here on Vox from time to time, but I'll primarily be blogging over on my own site, so please come and see me there:
Thanks!
